Timeless Tuesday ~ Fun with Backgrounds!

Hello fellow stamp lovers!  It's Tuesday... time for my favourite day of the week.... it's Timeless Tuesday Challenge time!!!  Hooray!

This week we actually have a guest hostess!  Welcome to Angel Rivera this week!

This week Angel is challenging us to...
create your own back ground paper using stamps!
FTTC232

Let me tell ya... this challenge has so many cool possibilities!!  It literally took me 20 minutes just to decide on what stamp set to use.  Finally I chose a stamp set I have used in a while, Bloomin' Aussie Florals.  I couldn't resist using the beautiful Stuart Desert Rose image from this collection to create my back ground!

To begin, I cut a piece of 5x6 piece of Flourishes Classic White Cardstock.  Then I took my rose image and some Memento "Black Tuxedo" ink and stamped the image all over the white cardstock.  I made sure to rotate my image as I stamped.

Then I cut the wavy lines using a die, separating the cardstock into 3 pieces.

Then I took the 2 outer panels and began to colour them using the following Copic Collections:

I started off by masking off 3 stamped images at a time and air brushing my back ground using the shade of purple Copic.  Then I coloured the roses and their leaves.  I added a subtle hint of grey Copic to the inner panel edges too.

Once it was coloured, I backed it with a piece of dark Bonquet purple cardstock from the "Crocus" Color Made Easy paper collection.  I added some fabulous Festive Fushia seam binding ribbon, Silver Metallic String and a Sunflower Light button.

Now... check out what my fellow designers creating using Angel's fun challenge this week...
Thanks for stopping by!  Enjoy your journey checking out all the cool back grounds today!

Wow! Allison, this is stunning! Your coloring is AMAZING, as always, ;) and I absolutely LOVE your card design with the uncolored panel in the center. And, the ribbon under that panel looks so cool! This warrants pinning for sure!
